I/O error 6 encountered when trying to open file

This occurs when attempting to open power point
presentation via File>Open. Double clicking on it from
explorer works fine. PowerPoint 2000 SR 1 running on
Windows XP.

Perhaps the following will help:

"An unexpected error occurred - I/O Error 0" or "An unexpected error
occurred - I/O Error 6"
