I have a plasma 42" widescreen display that I want to run a powerpoint
presentation on. The display is the only monitor which is connected to my
windows XP desktop computer. The computer display resolution is set at
1280x768 (WXGA).

When a Powerpoint presentation is shown on the widescreen display it always
displays in 4:3 format (i.e. there are thick black bars at both the left and
right hand side of the presentation.

How do I get my presentations to display in 1280x768 resolution (widescreen
format)?

Any help would be grately appreciated!

If your video card supports wide screen (16:9) then PowerPoint should work
without any changes. Do all your other apps work at 16:9 ratio?
