silence, when adding other sounds to transition or animation

when I import a wav. sound to be played as a animation-sound (picture etc.)
or under transition from dias to dias - there's nothing but silence. When I
use the sounds who are allready installed with PP, there are no problems.
Only when I import 'other sounds'. Actually I hear the sound ONE time, when I
import it, but NOT afterwards when I try to play it. I have no problem to
import music to be played throughout a single dias or the whole presentation.

Anyone got a clue?

Go to Tools > Options > General.
Set "link sounds with file size greater than:" to 50000kb.
Re-insert the sound.
Right click on the sound icon, click edit sound object.
Click the icon and see if it is muted or set to low volume. Also check
whether it says: [Contained in Presentation].
Click Slide Show > Custom Animation.
Check if the play effect is set to After previous and not On click.
Start the slide show and see if it plays now.

thanks.. but still not working. I changed the size to 50000kb ("link sounds
with file..")

It is also set to play 'After previous'...! Regarding sound icon... I don't
think you would find the icon, when you are just using a sound (-file) for
transition or animation on the the slide (I find the soud icon when I go to
Custom Animation > settings for effects... but it's OK. I have the sound icon
("on the slide"), when I import music to a slide og a whole show.

I have also tryed to shorten the file.name, but that's not the problem
neither!

Anything else?

Are you using wav or other sound format? If you are using other sound format
instead of wav, you will need to create a folder, move the ppt and music into
that folder, then re-insert the music. This is to create a pathless link.

If it still doesn't work, send me an email to pptheaven[at]gmail[dot]com.
Replace [at] with @ and [dot] with .
