I created a curve using Freeform tool from AutoShapes. I can change it from
closed to opened by "open path" in right click menu, but I want to get 2
opened curves by splitting it. Any ideas? Thanks a lot.

Hi,

I'm pretty sure that can't be done. I wonder if you could copy the free form
into something like Illustrator and do it there?

Maybe you are right, in fact I knew it was nearly impossible either. It's a
pity I am not familiar with the software u mentioned. Thanks all the same.
Best regards

It is a bit time consuming, but ...

Copy the free-form auto-shape that you have opened
Right click => edit points
On the first, delete the points on the left half
On the second, delete the points on the right half
Group them if you need them as a single object

You will be deleteing 1/2 from original and the other half from the copy.

If you do not have two shapes, you will have 1 continuous line (not 2 line
sections, as you stated).

Have you tried duplicating it (Ctrl+D) But I wander if it's the right
solution?

Why not just trace each half?

Yes, u r right. We should do as u stated. It is a good solution.
There are 2 ways:
1. I should form the habit that trace each half every time, rather than plot
a closed curve.
2. Microsoft should improve the split function.

Thanks all
